Steam Boiler Would Have Exploded Resulting in Deaths – Found T&P Relief & Defective Pressuretrole
SAINT MIKE SAVES MORE LIVES! Facts! If this boiler was left running, it would have exploded. Plain and simple. People would have died. The boiler had a water heater 100XL installed on it INSTEAD of a 15psi relief valve!!!!
Typical Tuesday & completed 5 service calls. Mostly new heat, but some highlights:
No Heat on Slant Fin gas boiler with defective Aqaustat relay, Weil Mclain gas steam boiler with Water Heater T&P Relief valve and defective pressuretrole, Estimate for a new furnace, we fixed it instead ending with Danfoss Thermostatic Steam Radiator Valve installation

He just had the boiler tuned up 2 months ago? oh really? When it was 90 degrees in august? yeah right.
That is the ugliest carpeting Ive ever seen. Looks like pizza with everything on it hahaha gag
is that one of those shipping couplings that you put the relief valve into?
Great video. Love the service call content. Would the grinder have been easier or just faster than the recip saw?
Hello Mike. One question
This boiler is steam is right install a pump to move the steam. I thought that just hot water can be move por a pump. Can you help me with that. Thank
I bet the old homeowner put that TP valve in lol
Saint Mike what was that boiler key ring thing you used in the video I demand a part number
Your phone blows up like mine with the spam calls. I hate spam calls!
St Mike, You are clearly a man focused on the future with a clear vision of what to do to improve your business and the industry your service. Having said that, I have an R22 🦕 that will need to be replaced soon, at the same time I see the same writing on the wall for 410a with r32 coming out at the end of the year. I am at the tail end of the current refrigerant and if I went into 410a now as my system starts breaking down in 20 years I’ll be paying ridiculous amounts for 410a as I’m currently for r22. Should I hold out and have an eye on the future and wait and move into the latest refrigerant be it R32 or 454b. Thoughts from the renaissance man ?
Lets go brandon
Curious as to why you do not bring any tools with you on first inspection.
Whomever put that wrong valve in needs a visit to bellview.
Single pipe steam heat is dependent on vents in order to heat up the radiator. Have you ever used a thermostatic controlled vent valve? I’m not understanding how the TRV is going to help since the condensate has to go down the same valve shouldn’t partially closed it will block the condensate from leaving the radiator.
I can't stand that guy or people like him.
Hey Mikey the pipe vice you used . Do you like it . It works ok .
There should be a class and test on home appliances before you are allowed to buy a home or before the insurance company will insure you. Lol.
Good series of repairs. Thank you Mikey Pipes.
People must leave it to the professionals wrong relief value can be dangerous
the T&P should have opened on temp — usually at 210F. but this is a MAJOR safety issue as you point out; 150 psi vs 15psi — only 10x. with a flakey presuretrol… glad to not be living next to this house. this jury rigged beast should be completely redone… no telling what other issues are lurking.
Love the Lets.Go.B, but have to say, I was watching your prior video of the gas valve buzzing and sent it to the customer that had the same issue. I did so half way through the video before the political comments stared. Customer loved the video, less the last part so I apologized and said I had not seen the end before sending. Oops, my bad. Makes me laugh though. I go into lots of house that have shrines to Red and Blue, just keep my mouth shut smile, do my job and leave, had a couple people from guess what side, become completely unhinged of just a slither of politics, so at work I stay out.
I have a customer with the exact same Slant Finn boiler with the long back outlet vent hood. For the life of me, I have never been able to get back there for a combustion test.
St. Mike; you are living up to that name. Good show!
thank heck that relief was stuck open it could of ended bad
